A multilingual website, SEO migration and payments, built solo.

For a Bern dance school I built a multilingual site, migrated its SEO and built billing on Swiss QR-bills.

Context and role

solo, end to end

A one-language WordPress site, and billing by hand for 200 students.

  • BudgetNo TWINT or Stripe fees
  • SEOKeep rankings through the move
  • ComplianceInvoices must follow the Swiss QR-bill standard

How I thought about it

fees were the deciding constraint

Payments

TWINT or Stripe
Invoicing by hand

Swiss QR-bills by email

No fees, every Swiss bank supports it, and a dashboard shows who has paid.

Platform

Custom, prerendered build

SEO migration

Local search decides which school people try first, so the Google Business Profile came with it.

What I built

Abailar home page on desktop: the team under the Abailar Tanzschule logo, a trial-class button, and a ticker of dance styles
Abailar home page on a phone: logo, the team and the Book a trial class button
Seven styles, one language: the class grid with Cuban Salsa, Salsa Styling and Hip-Hop · Reggaetón cards
Every invoice is a valid Swiss QR-bill: students scan the code in their banking app to pay.
  • Website. German, French and English, prerendered for search.
  • Payments. Swiss bill APIs generate a valid QR-bill per invoice; students pay from their banking app.
  • Dashboard. Who has paid, at a glance. Built in one weekend.

Impact

~200 students billed every term, with no payment fees.

What I'd do differently

  1. Measure search rankings before the migration.
  2. Give students a self-service view of their payments.
